If they could be easily exfoliated, layered materials would become a diverse source of two-dimensional crystals whose properties would be useful in applications ranging from electronics to energy storage. We show that layered compounds such as MoS(2), WS(2), MoSe(2), MoTe(2), TaSe(2), NbSe(2), NiTe(2), BN, and Bi(2)Te(3) can be efficiently dispersed in common solvents and can be deposited as individual flakes or formed into films. Electron microscopy strongly suggests that the material is exfoliated into individual layers. By blending this material with suspensions of other nanomaterials or polymer solutions, we can prepare hybrid dispersions or composites, which can be cast into films. We show that WS(2) and MoS(2) effectively reinforce polymers, whereas WS(2)/carbon nanotube hybrid films have high conductivity, leading to promising thermoelectric properties.  相似文献

Technologies to assess the molecular targets of biomolecules in living cells are lacking. We have developed a technology called magnetism-based interaction capture (MAGIC) that identifies molecular targets on the basis of induced movement of superparamagnetic nanoparticles inside living cells. Efficient intracellular uptake of superparamagnetic nanoparticles (coated with a small molecule of interest) was mediated by a transducible fusogenic peptide. These nanoprobes captured the small molecule's labeled target protein and were translocated in a direction specified by the magnetic field. Use of MAGIC in genome-wide expression screening identified multiple protein targets of a drug. MAGIC was also used to monitor signal-dependent modification and multiple interactions of proteins.  相似文献

Zeolites are crystalline nanoporous aluminosilicates widely used in industry. In order for zeolites to find applications as innovative materials, they need to be organized into large two- and three-dimensional (2D and 3D) arrays. We report that uniformly aligned polyurethane films can serve as templates for the synthesis of uniformly aligned 2D and possibly 3D arrays of silicalite-1 crystals, in which the orientations of the crystals are controlled by the nature of the polymers. We propose that the supramolecularly organized organic-inorganic composites that consist of the hydrolyzed organic products and the seed crystals are responsible for this phenomenon.  相似文献

Lipoxygenase inhibitory activity of octyl gallate   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
Octyl gallate inhibited soybean lipoxygenase-1 (EC 1.13.11.12, type I) with an IC(50) of 1.3 microM. The inhibition of the enzyme by octyl gallate is a slow and reversible reaction without residual activity. The inhibition kinetics analyzed by Lineweaver-Burk plots indicates that octyl gallate is a competitive inhibitor, and the inhibition constant, K(I), was obtained as 0.54 microM. One molecule of octyl gallate scavenged six molecules of 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl and inhibited autoxidative lipid peroxidation. In addition, octyl gallate was effective in preventing lipid peroxidation.  相似文献

An active compound that inhibits cancer cells was isolated from the fruit of Prunus mume, and its structure and in vitro activities were characterized. The n-hexane fraction obtained from methanol extracts exhibited the strongest inhibitory effect on the growth of cancer cells. From the n-hexane fraction, a new compound named B-1 was purified through preparative thin-layer chromatography, ODS column chromatography, and reverse phase high-performance liquid chromatography and its structure was analyzed by fast atom bombardment mass spectrometry and 1H and 13C NMR. The molecular formula of B-1 was C19H22O6 {2-hydroxy-1-[(7-hydroxy-2-oxo-2H-chromen-6-yl)methyl]-2-methylpropyl-(2Z)-3-methyl-but-e-enoate:prunate}, and the IC50 value was in the range of 39-58 microg/mL in descending order of the cancer cell lines Hep-2, SW-156, HEC-1-B, and SK-OV-3. B-1 exhibited 81-96% inhibition at a concentration level of 100 microg/mL against all cells, based on an 3-[4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl]-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide assay. However, B-1 showed little effect against normal cells with only 23% or less growth inhibition at 100 microg/mL. Thus, B-1 has a highly specific inhibitory effect against cancer cells but little effect against normal cells. When the cancer cell lines Hep-2 and SK-OV-3 were incubated with B-1 for 72 h, most of the tested cells suffered strong growth inhibition. The compound has the potential to be developed as a nutraceutical.  相似文献

Fowl typhoid caused by Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serotype Gallinarum biotype Gallinarum is the most important chicken disease in Korea. Due to appearance of new or multiple antibiotics resistances in the recently isolated strains, it was difficult to control the disease using antibiotics in our country. Therefore, the prevalence and genetic contents of class 1 integrons in biotype Gallinarum isolated between 1992 and 2001 were investigated by PCR and direct sequencing, respectively. Out of 90 strains, 35 (39%) carried class 1 integrons. The 1.0, 1.6 and 2.0kbp amplicons were amplified in 32 strains (36%), 2 strains (2%) and 1 strain (1%), respectively. The 1.0, 1.6 and 2.0 kbp amplicons contained one (aadA1a), two (aadB-aadA1b) and three cassettes (dhfrXII-orfF-aadA2), respectively, providing resistances against aminoglycosides (aadA1a, aadA1b, aadB, and aadA2) and trimethoprim (dhfrXII). The integron-carrying strains of biotype Gallinarum appeared in 1996 and acquired additional cassettes in 2000. Although the resistances to ampicillin, tetracycline and chloramphenicol are unrelated to class 1 integrons, relatively high prevalence of integron in biotype Gallinarum may be a dormant threat to the chemotherapy of the disease in the near future because of potency to acquire additional antibiotics resistances.  相似文献

Zinc oxide (ZnO) and silicon carbide (SiC) nanoparticles were compounded with polyethylene terephthalate (PET) by using a twin screw extruder, and their effect on the UV absorption and heat transfer in PET/ZnO and PET/SiC composite films was investigated. The presence of ZnO and SiC in the PET matrix was verified by X-ray diffraction. The UV absorbance of both PET/ZnO and PET/SiC composite films increased with increasing particle content. The UV absorbance of PET/SiC was higher than that of PET/ZnO under the same particle content. A thermal imaging camera was used to analyze the heat transfer in PET/ZnO and PET/SiC composite films after heating them to 40 °C. As the content of ZnO and SiC particles increased, the temperature decreased more rapidly. PET/SiC showed faster cooling than PET/ZnO because of the higher thermal conductivity of SiC compared to that of ZnO. Response temperature surfaces for PET/ZnO and PET/SiC were obtained by using an exponential decay function and a second order equation, and the elapsed times to cool to room temperature were estimated.  相似文献

Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)/poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) and polyethylene oxide (PEO) (or polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)) blended electrospun nanofibers were prepared in the presence of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) and ethylene glycol (EG). The effects of added solvents (DMSO and EG) and blended polymers (PEO and PVA) on electrical conductivity and current-voltage (I-V) response were investigated. Electrical conductivity was dependent on both the additional solvent and blended polymers. PEDOT:PSS/PEO blended nanofibers showed a much higher electrical conductivity than PEDOT:PSS/PVA. EG blended PEDOT:PSS/PEO blended nanofibers showed much higher electrical conductivity than DMSO. The PEDOT:PSS/PEO/EG blended nanofibers web showed the highest value in I-V response.  相似文献

Carbon nanotube (CNT)/magnetite (Fe3O4) nanocomposites were successfully fabricated by nanocoating. When the CNT/Fe3O4 nanocomposites were added to a carbonyl (CI) based magnetorheological fluid (MRF), the magnetic rheological properties of the MRF were enhanced. Such enhancement in magnetic rheological properties of the CI-CNT/Fe3O4 MRF is considered to be attributable to both the superparamagnetic property of the magnetic layer covering the CNT surface and the high length to diameter ratio of the CNT/Fe3O4 nanocomposite. Impact properties for CI-CNT/Fe3O4 MRF treated Kevlar fabrics were also tested, and improved impact properties were observed with external magnetic fields compared to CI-MRF treated Kevlar fabrics.  相似文献
